The next morning, we made use of the hotel pool, attempting to get our complete investment's worth out of our time there:
The pool had these awesome monorail water slides:
Abby is narrating our Disneyland pictures for Lola.
Isaac and Daddy playing Just Dance.
And Camille and Noel showed us how it's done.
And a link to Adel and I dancing like Egyptians
Poker
A quick trip to Seaport Village with the cousins and Uncle Allen.
Photo shoot in the trees.
Supermodel.
We had awesome timing with this trip to arrive just a few days before Lolo's brother and sister-in-law arrived from the Philippines. They have been waiting more than twenty years for the opportunity to become US citizens. The morning after they arrived, we got to witness the traditional unpacking of the Balik Bayan ("Returning Home") Boxes. Traditionally, Filipinos would fill these boxes with US products to take back home. But this time, they filled them with Filipino goodies to share with the family.
What's in the box?
It's a lot like Christmas, with everyone getting gifts.
Everyone standing around waiting to see what's in it for them.
Camille with her new Nikon camera lens coffee mug.
Abby and I tasting some pastillas...mmm...
"Isaac, these Filipino sweets are awesome!!!"
Camille with her stash of skin/hair products. Pretty girl!
And our stash.
After that, all the Lolas helped Isaac and Abby load their plates with rice, mangos, and oreos! Lots of Lolas = Spoiled kids.
Chasing pigeons at Balboa Park.
And it was only a matter of time before they had their shoes off and were walking in the stream.
Exploring.
Our long-time friends Karen and Dave and their kids met us there. I was being lazy so this is the only picture I got of them, but at least I have proof we were all there!
