August in Pictures

Our last Hoorah before school started was our Camp Lagoy week with my nieces.  We all love this week (or in this case, 4 days) and look forward to it each year.  I really outdid myself this year and wore us all out but I want them to remember this special time so it was worth it!

Day 1
Movie Day!

And Tea Party!

Day 2: Beach day!  My favorite.  7 kids and me at the beach!  They are such good kids and the weather was perfect so it was a great day.

Then we went to piano lessons where B got to learn about the violin.  She wants to learn to play it!

Day 3: What it looks like to cook eggs for 7 kids!

They spent a few hours at cooking school making pork buns, ramen, and cookies.

And then they shared it all with me!

And ended the day with backyard water fun!

Day 4: a visit to DD and Papa for lunch

And ice cream!

And hugs!

And getting our nails done!

Then back home for some late-night crafting...using the shells from the beach day to decorate their first initial

Or, build a snail house

After Camp Lagoy, we enjoyed a lunch out with our friend, Ms. Kat for her birthday!

And Samuel!

Meet the teacher night! Kindergarten for this little one!

At last! The first day of school!  7th grade

Kindergarten!

5th grade!

Pre K 4!

I enjoyed lunch and pedicures with friends and then went out to enjoy the eclipse. Tried the colander trick...it works!

Got the kids in school and ready to roll!

Hill Country Road Trip

First Stop: The Alamo

Riverwalk

Marriott Hill Country

Natural Bridge Caverns

Panning for gems!

Maze!

One of my favorite getaways and this is our second stay: Settler's Crossing in Fredericksburg.

I just love how it feels like going back in time.

We went to a zoo where you take a tractor ride through and feed the animals. It was so much fun!

Abby decided to brave the kissing camel!

You put the food between your lips and the camel gives you a kiss to get it

 Right on the kisser!

Haha!

Then the petting zoo

And lunch in Fredericksburg

With dessert, of course

Our cottage

Another thing I love about staying at Settler's Crossing is that it is a working farm with sheep, a donkey, and a horse roaming free.

Then we headed back through San Antonio for a one night stay at the Hyatt Hill Country

It has a great pool and lazy river and water slides

Part of the lazy river has a sand bank.

It was a great trip!
