Abby couldn't resist the chance to feed the birds.
A boy and a beach.
Dad sat with Mom to watch for a while...
...but then decided that playing with the boy was more fun.
Meanwhile, Mom decided that what those people on the rocks were looking at must be cool, so we had to go check it out.
Waves crashing into the top (great pic, Adrian!...he became our official photographer at this point).
Turns out the rocks had some pretty cool tide pools and structures.
Anemones.
A little red crab.
With Patrick before he heads to Hawaii for his Navy post.
The kids found this cool spot where the rocks have been completely eroded by the waves.
They quickly began trying to build a sand wall that would keep out the waves.
Here it comes!
Oh no!
After that we went a bit the other way and found the spot where the seals live.
And one last stop to play in the sand again.
On our way out, the squirrels gave us a standing goodbye salute.
We made a stop by Birch Aquarium...
For a snack...
...and some more edumacation.
Shark eggs.
Abby and Isaac beating each other up on the weather report camera. They started off so serious and it went downhill so fast.
Checking out the aquarium's tide pools.
Anemone.
Shark bite.
And a chance to play.
And we ended the night with cards and coins and the aunties and lolas.
