A Hobbit Day

Let it be known that the Lagoys love The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.  And today we had a fun hobbit-themed experience.

Front and center seats for a free children's theater production of The Hobbit at Miller Outdoor Theater.

Gandalf and Bilbo

The kids with some cast members after the show.

Getting autographs in Isaac's Hobbit book. This actor played Gollum, Elrond, and Beorn.

A picture with Bilbo.

Bard signing the book.

Amelia had to leave the front row as soon as Gandalf made his first appearance.  She was terrified pretty much the whole time.  Aubrey made it only a little longer.  Isaac, Lily, and Abby made it through the whole show, but my two kids got a little bored at the end...too much talk, not enough action for them!

Afterwards, we had a fitting lunch at The Hobbit cafe, only 10 minutes from the theater.

The kids colored Hobbit-themed coloring books.

And the food was very good (with a generous serving of avocado!)

Fun day...and just a wee bit sweaty...at least for those of us snuggling with a terrified three-year-old the entire time!
