It has become a tradition since Lindsay went back to work part time in the schools...the last week of summer (when she is in teacher in-service days), we have the cousins for Camp Lagoy! Now that we have two new kids, the total has gone from five to SEVEN kids! Yikes! Thankfully, the five older kids are more helpful than hard to manage these days and we had a lovely week!
Enjoying the light rain on the trampoline.
Six kids at the grocery store? Piece of cake when they are old enough to run fetch items and push the little ones in the extra cart (without running over anyone's heels!).
Cooking Dinner? Each night, the Tripple-A's (Aubrey, Abby, and Amelia) or the Pre-Teens (Isaac and Lily) would help with dinner: chopping, cooking, and setting the table. I didn't get a picture, but when it was Isaac and Lily's turn, they deboned a rotisserie chicken!
A trip to the mall? Piece of cake with big kids helping the little ones. I can kind of see how families with crazy numbers of children function...not that I want more than four, but I can see how it works.
We went to the mall to see a Lego Exhibit that I didn't realize had packed up two days prior. So we settled for creating and keeping mini figures from the Lego Store.
The final products
And, food court ice cream!
It was overcast and not very hot, so we had to pool all to ourselves! This was the first time this summer I did not have to get in with the Little Ones, as they are now pretty independent in their floaties!
30 minutes of quiet reading every day! And they took it seriously. Group mentality helps a lot!
And rewarded with a trip to the movies to see The Secret Life of Pets!
She didn't make it through the whole movie, but this picture of a thriving (slightly spoiled) girl makes me so happy, knowing what she has come from and how far she has come!
We look forward to Camp Lagoy 2017!
