Dangerfield State Park

We love camping, but aren't quite up for the tent experience with the babies yet.  So we searched and found some state park cabins to rent and this is our first one.  Mid-May is potentially already way too hot in Texas for being outdoors, so we took a picture of the cabin thermostat: camping at a 68 degree temp is not too shabby!

And eating lots of junk food before bedtime

Isaac got his own room.  I LOVE and can't get enough of the fact that he now loves to read!

Getting out the sweets!

The next day we explored the park.  Paddle boats.

And the lilypads

We had a picnic table in our back yard so the kids made use of the dirt

We went on a 2 mile nature walk.  Baby Girl walked the whole way.  We didn't let Baby Boy out of his stroller because we knew he would stop and touch EVERYTHING and we would never get anywhere.  We pretty much had to carry the stroller the whole way.

Lots of work, but still fun.

Sun came out!

Abby was pretty proud of her castle

 Lunch

Isaac's dirt dog

Babies are in bed and it's game night!

And in the morning, Babies get to have some screen time

Last morning swing time

A swing with a view

Sooooooooo sweet!  (at least at this moment)

And naps on the ride home!

We are pretty sure that our vacations for this year will now be all little weekend getaways like this.  Just much easier than a big trip with the little ones!
